About The Troupe
Crossroads Irish Dance Troupe is a performing troupe sponsored by Jessica Morgan School of Dance. Revived in 2001, by Artistic Director Amy Habel, Crossroads Irish Dance Troupe is a performing troupe sponsored by Jessica Morgan School of Dance. Crossroads offer students the chance to form new friendships, develop team skills & unity, and perform throughout the community in Richmond.
Crossroads focuses on the show/performance side of Irish dance and members are given the opportunity to continue and advance their training in a fun, positive, & professional environment. Members perform different styles of Irish dance including Drama, Choreography as well as, Solo dancing.
The troupe consists of 2 teams (SR & JR Team) of talented students ranging from age 11 to adult. All members have extensive training in Irish dance and some have previously or currently compete in local, regional, and even national Irish Dance competitions. We currently have students that compete i
n Advance Beginner through Champion level.
The troupe has had the opportunity to train & attend workshop classes with lead/principal dancers from "Riverdance" and Busch Garden's "Emerald Beat" as well as, certified Irish dance instructors. Our dancers have also the opportunity to attend the infamous Irish dance camp "Rince Ceol" in New York.
Crossroads prides itself in combining an exciting blend of both traditional Irish step & the present-day, "Riverdance" & "Lord of the Dance" style of Irish dance into their performance.
